The SITCH Morning Hair Routine: 5 Minutes to Great Hair
Here's the truth about great hair: it's not built in the morning. It's built on wash day. Your morning routine is just maintenance — protecting what you already created and refreshing it enough to look intentional. And that doesn't take long. Five minutes, the right products, and a little technique is all you need.
Here's the exact SITCH morning routine for fine, curly, or wavy hair.
Before You Start: Know What Day It Is
Your morning routine changes depending on how far you are from your last wash day. Day 1 hair (fresh wash) needs almost nothing. Day 2 and 3 hair needs a little more love. This routine is designed for Day 2 and beyond — when your curls need refreshing but you're not ready to wash again.
Step 1: Assess, Don't Assume (30 seconds)
Before you reach for anything, look at your hair. Is it just a little flat? Frizzy on the surface? Completely lost its shape? The answer determines how much product you need. The biggest mistake in a morning routine is over-applying — which weighs fine hair down and makes it look worse, not better.
Step 2: Refresh With Water (1 minute)
Water is your best friend on non-wash days. Lightly mist your hair with a spray bottle of plain water, or dampen your hands and scrunch it through the sections that need the most help. You're not soaking it — just reactivating the products already in your hair and giving your curls or waves the moisture they need to reform.
Focus on the areas that have gone flat or frizzy. The back of your head where you sleep on it, the crown where heat escapes, and any sections that got crushed overnight.
Step 3: Apply the Detangler Spray (1 minute)
Once your hair is lightly damp, the DETANGLER SPRAY is your go-to refresh product. It smooths the cuticle, reduces frizz, and helps your curls or waves clump back together without making your hair feel heavy or coated.
Spray it lightly through the sections that need it most, then scrunch upward — don't rake or brush, which disrupts the curl pattern and causes frizz. Let it do its thing.
Step 4: Restyle If Needed (1–2 minutes)
If your hair needs more than a light refresh — say it's Day 3 and things have really gone sideways — add a small amount of your styling product over the Detangler Spray while hair is still damp.
- For curls: A fingertip-sized amount of CURL LOTION scrunched through the lengths will revive definition without buildup.
- For volume: A light mist of VOLUMIZING SPRAY at the roots lifts flat sections and adds body.
- For smoothness: A small amount of SMOOTHING LOTION worked through the surface tames frizz and gives a polished finish.
Less is more here. You can always add, but you can't take away.
Step 5: Finish and Go (30 seconds)
Once you've scrunched and shaped, leave it alone. The more you touch your hair while it's drying, the more frizz you create. If you need to speed things up, use a diffuser on low heat for 2–3 minutes. Otherwise, let it air dry and get on with your morning.
If there are any flyaways once it's dry, a tiny amount of CREAM pressed between your palms and smoothed lightly over the surface will take care of them without disturbing the rest of your style.

Make Wash Day Count
The better your wash day routine, the easier your mornings get. When your hair is properly cleansed, conditioned, and styled from the start, it holds its shape longer and needs less work to refresh. That's the whole SITCH philosophy: do it right once, and the rest takes care of itself.
